I was scared. New school, new people and a completely new environment. If you are one of those who is very close to me, you would know that I feel better when there are no humans around me. It kind of feels as if they are depleting every bit of my energy.
The people I am comfortable with, are limited, and even with them I always make sure that I am at a safe distance. With time, I have learnt to raise my vibration and protect myself but this would not have been possible without this precious person in my life.
The Excelsior School, an english medium expensive and highly popular school in Kathmandu. Every parent wants their kid to study in a good school and get a good education. I was no different. My parents admitted me there and a new chapter of my life began.
Expressing my emotions was the hardest thing for me during my childhood days. Deep down inside, I was crying. The people, their energy, the noise and the suffocating environment, everything was draining me. I was really struggling.
Few days later, the teacher had changed my seat. There was a boy sitting next to me. Since I was quiet all the time, he made the first move.
“What’s your name?”
“Reman.”, I replied.
“Let’s be friends. Give me your number.”
He was pretty straight forward and since I couldn’t feel any negative vibrations from him, I gave him my phone number and I also asked for his.
From that day onwards, he started to call me and I called him too. The Excelsior School became a home since then because this genuine person offered me his friendship and made me adaptable to the toxic environment throughout many years of my life.
We have had a lot of beautiful, funny and scary moments together. We did some fun and daring stuffs and laughed the hell out later when we got out of it without getting caught. In every school event, he used to play the guitar and I used to play the piano. Life would seriously not be fun hadn’t this person been in my life.
One of the beautiful moments with him was when we were in the hostel. We were playing and since I was running a lot, all of a sudden, I felt a shock on the left side of my chest. I was about to fall and he caught me.
“I always tell you not to run like that.”, He said.
It’s hard to see the emotional side of such a fun loving person and I despite being his close friend, had seen it after 9 years. Our friendship is already 20 years old now and I miss him and every moment that we had together.
He came into my life as a blessing and he was the first friend of my life.
His name is Sujan Shrestha.
